Take in the gold rush on March 11th at the Gold Rush Burlesque (www.starshineburlesque.com) at Lotus, 409 W. 14th Street @ 9th Avenue. Enjoy dinner theater with spontaneous aperitif for the eyes. Bursts of burlesque start at 10:15 as morsels of beauty and glitter continue in four installments until 11:30, allowing you to get home early, if you like, or to stay for the Lotus Gold Digger party... a night of classic New York hip hop and rock. A sampler of sexiness, each skit lasts from 3 to 7 minutes, with 10-15 minute intervals between acts. The concept is "sexy," "bold," "vaudeville" in dim-dinner lighting to an original Thai-urban Asian menu created by Lotus Executive Chef Filomino. In between the performances, a DJ spins rock music and patrons can cool off with a drink at the bar. A few reserved tables with bottle service also are available.
