Q: I'm about 7 months pregnant and my partner and I are finding it more difficult to have quality sex when my abdomen gets in the way. Any suggestions?
Two thumbs up to you for still even wanting to have sex. I know when I was pregnant my hormones put Lawson's chip dip at the top of my list and sex somewhere hovering towards the bottom. Plus when we did romp and roll around in the sack, it became increasingly difficult to have sex with that belly of mine in the way. So we tried out a variety of positions where the abdomen didn't interfere, and these were our top picks:
1) You On Top - this way you can control how much of his shaft enters you and a good chunk of the movement.
2) Doggie Style - on your hands and knees, and this way your belly does not get in the way until maybe the end of your term. Then it may rest on the bed.
3) Spooning - granted this is a favorite of mine regardless of a belly or not:) It's amazingly effective in the morning so that morning breath does not pose a problem! With your partner scooped in behind you, let his cock go in between your thighs and enter you from behind.
Many women love the Missionary position during pregnancy as it's easy on the back and on the abdomen, but as time progresses and a woman gets bigger, it is just not a doable option.
Have as much sex as you can when you can before your baby is born. Because after the little lamb chop arrives all you'll be wanting is a good night's sleep for many months to come!
