They really are...especially when it's in the form of the Diamond Swirl glass dildo! It was pure bliss when this baby arrived in its special velveteen case! I love glass -- it's elegant, durable and as hard as a rock. Before we had our play time, I took the time to appreciate the pure workmanship that goes into one of these dildos. It's not the norm to spend time with a toy before I try it out, but I honestly couldn't help it. What can I say? I'm a sucker for glass.
I've noticed in the chats that I do in The L Word and the questions I answer here in Pillow Talk that for the most part people are afraid to try a glass dildo. It's that fear that the glass dildo will break during play. Since they are made of glass, it's always a possibility that a nick could happen rendering the toy unsafe - I won't discount that. But most glass toys are made from tempered glass, so they are up to the challenge of play. If they weren't playable, then none would ever sell now would they?
I wanted to try this toy first warmed up with some lube. I warmed it in hot water, applied the lube and within moments I was in Alison's version of sweet heaven. The warmth and the quarter-inch ridges that spiral up the base to a tapered head were simply wonderful. With the proper fantasy in play, it didn't take me long at all to reach the big O. The lube stayed on the glass much longer than a silicone or cyber skin dildo. It's also sturdy enough at the base to grab onto and do some serious thrust moves.
Thankfully, I have a high sex drive as I wanted to give the Diamond Swirl another whirl -- but this time making it ice cold. So I popped it into the freezer and went to run some errands. Upon arriving home, the dildo was the perfect burrrrr temperature I was looking for! My family has always told me that my vivid imagination was one of the things they liked about me, and my God does it come in handy with this job. I can drum up a fantasy within moments! I LOVED the shock of the cold dildo...simply loved it. I hit the O this time around faster than I did the first time! What someone needs to come up with is a revolving pedestal that you can hook a glass or acrylic dildo into -- this way you can thrust away and the dildo will spin on it's own having the ridges hit all the right spots automatically.
And I before I forget....the slight curve to this beauty is perfect for hitting the G-spot!
Drawbacks? Nope - nadda - none! God I love this guy!
Your own Diamond Swirl will run you about $59.95 + depending where you buy it online, such as Libida (www.libida.com). This one will stay hidden in the freezer for when I want it cold! But we still have to ask ourselves the question...
